It was security researcher Willem de Groot that revealed the malware on the store’s website. The fraudsters had used code obfuscation. The attackers aimed to scrape credit card numbers to sell them on the dark web or carry out other malicious activities.
Thankfully, de Groot was able to decode the information and find out what the web address of the server looked like. Specifically, this was a Russian domain registered in Moscow. The website was available as a decoy page.
